Terms of Engagement

Last updated: September 2026

Overview

These terms govern the professional relationship between NorthSky Media (operated by Ramon De Juan) and clients commissioning aerial film, photography, and production services. By commissioning work from NorthSky Media, you agree to these terms.

Quotations & Commissioning

All quotations are provided in writing and are valid for 30 days from the date of issue. A commission is confirmed upon receipt of a signed purchase order, written confirmation, or payment of a deposit as agreed. NorthSky Media reserves the right to decline commissions at its discretion.

Payment Terms

Unless otherwise agreed in writing:

Scope of Work

The agreed scope of work is defined in the written quotation or project brief. Any additional requirements beyond the agreed scope may be subject to additional fees, which will be communicated and agreed in writing before work proceeds.

Cancellation

Cancellations must be made in writing. The following cancellation fees apply:

Weather & Rescheduling

NorthSky Media monitors weather forecasts and will advise clients if conditions are unsafe for drone operations. Rescheduling due to unsafe weather conditions does not incur additional fees, provided reasonable notice is given. NorthSky Media reserves the right to make the final safety determination on whether conditions are suitable for flight.

CAA Compliance & Safety

All drone operations are conducted in full compliance with UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) regulations, including the Air Navigation Order and applicable drone codes. NorthSky Media holds CAA PfCO and A2 Certificate of Competency accreditation. The client is responsible for obtaining any necessary site permissions, landowner consents, and access arrangements prior to the operational date.

Restricted Airspace & Permissions

Standard CAA airspace notifications are included in all bookings. Where operations require additional permissions — including flights in restricted zones, controlled airspace, or areas requiring NOTAM applications — these will be quoted separately and may require additional lead time. NorthSky Media cannot guarantee permissions will be granted and no liability is accepted for operations cancelled due to permission refusals.

Intellectual Property

All footage, photographs, and edited materials produced by NorthSky Media remain the intellectual property of NorthSky Media until full payment has been received. Upon receipt of full payment, the client is granted a licence to use the delivered materials for the purposes agreed at commissioning. NorthSky Media retains the right to use production stills and footage for portfolio and promotional purposes unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Public Liability Insurance

NorthSky Media holds Public Liability Insurance of £5 million as standard. A certificate of insurance is available on request. Our liability is limited to the value of the commission. We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental losses arising from the use of delivered materials or from operational delays caused by factors outside our reasonable control.

Data & Privacy

In the course of aerial operations, NorthSky Media may incidentally capture footage of persons, vehicles, or properties. All such footage is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and UK GDPR requirements. See our full Privacy Policy at northsky.media/privacy.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
